Gavin’s what’s the price on IGEN generator?

Hey Gavin, can you please do a review/test of the 50 amp unit? I see reports that this unit only measures one leg of the 240, giving you only a 120 reading. That makes sense because I think these are made for RV's, which hook up to 50 amp 240v, but only use 120v being that nothing in a RV uses 240.

They're marketed for camping (amongst other things) imagine youd soon get complaints about the noise. And if used for fishing - are there lakes with deaf fish?

This WestingHouse seems really nice. It's impressive how this brand seems to have really good fuel consumption compared to other generators in its power class.

The good thing about IGEN generators is you can get after market natural gas regulators that hook up to the propane hook up and you don’t have to change anything in the generator itself.

Update! They have redesigned the air filter to make it easier to get to the air filter. I thought it was really crazy to take the generator apart just to change out the filter lol! Those videos need to be removed from UA-cam!! Common sense!

Gavin, two huge advantages for me is the no-tool access door, and the long oil drain hose that makes maintenance much easier for me.

do any other Brands have the 'auto-select' of fuel function? As i'm shopping for an inverter generator, duel or tri, with ideally over 8k running watts on LPG, i see WEH has that function but they don't have one that size. Thanks in advance.

gavin is it normal for a brief puff of white smoke from from a new generator when start up and turn off choke? Or also when going from eco mode ‘on’ to eco ‘off’?

Can you explain how you would incorporate two 50 amp plugs for your backup. I know I could connect one of them to a 50 amp breaker using an interlock. How would you add the second?

Hi, I have an inverter generator (4000 peak watts/3200 running watts). It came with a paralleling kit whereas the connection connects one inverter generator to the other inverter generator. I would then plug into one of the 30 amp outlets on either of the generators. This parallel connection does not have a separate outlet similar to other kits. 1. By paralleling with the kit I was supplied and connecting to the 30 amp outlet on the generator, does this also increase the output? 2. Is the outlet still limited to 30 amp output? 3. What is the benefit of using a parallel kit that has a separate either 30 amp or 50 amp outlet. Thanks for your time. Hope you had a great July 4th.

Gavin... you never did a load test video on the pulsar 9500... if you have one and some time that would be appreciated :-)

I just changed the battery in my 3000i and I love the quietness of that machine. I also have a victron 12v/3000va inverter with a 4000Ah lifepo4 CALB battery and use that for the ultimate quiet system. I really appreciate the video here, might I suggest setting the cooktop to 9 or 8 so that you can find a power load that both gensets can run then compare the noise given a fixed load. Thanks for taking the time to put these through their paces.

Hey Gavin, please review some low rpm diesel air cooled gen sets. For off grid backup, they are the cat’s pajamas

But the trackers are closer to the sun so of course will produce more power.

I bought the Pulsar9500w. Between The Genmax9000 and Pulsar9500 (same with the 10500w tri fuel generators) I went with Pulsar since it offered a 3 year warranty. Although these warranties have to be tested, a 3year is better than 90 days or 1 year warranty. Also the Pulsar has a pressurized oil system which pumps oil through the strainer. I called support and they sent me an exploded drawing of the engine/powerhead which shows the oil pump assembly. At least its in the design drawings, as to the oil flow path, I can't speak to that as it's not detailed. Anyway I'm happy with my choice and the generators performance so far. Main purchase is for emergency backup power only.

Question … most people are using there generators to run their homes in the event of an outage. Where is the benefit in running two generators in parallel if a 50A inlet can only handle around 12,500 watts total, which is less than what those two inverters combined would produce? Not a criticism but I’m trying to learn the process.

Have you tried to do this test on the new Midea AC units?
